Our current curriculum focus is to incorporate Education Queensland's Essential Learnings into our units of work. This involves a process of auditing our programs against these requirements and renewing and redeveloping our offerings accordingly. An important part of this work involves developing criteria based assessments which show clear standards. This will aslo contribute to work being done in other schools to facilitate comparability of standards across all Queensland schools.

Key Learning Areas included in our curriculum for all styudents include English, Maths, Science, Studies of Society and Environment, Health and Physical Education and The Arts (including Art and Music). Language Other Than English (Japanese) is offered to children in years 6 and 7.

Our instrumental music program includes the school band and offers tuition in strings, woodwind and brass. In the Early Years (P - 3) we place great emphasis developing basic literacy and numeracy skills focussing on oral language developmental activities and learning support where appropriate.

The school provides a variety of teaching arrangements including single and multi-age classes. These provide different approaches to best meet the needs of students.
